The G. H. Special Caddis was first developed in 1986 while fishing the upper Taylor River- now called the C&R- because of the constant impaling of those caddis nymphs on my shrimp patterns and other flies. Refined to a fly that was durable and easy to tie by '88. The fly went through several redesigns over the years to what you see now.
Net builder caddis build nets in the current between objects and capture their food that way. The G.H. Special is well weighted, making it ideal for primary rig setups for nymphing or euro style.
