Al Quattrocchi (aka Al Q) has been saltwater fly fishing and tying flies for over thirty years. Al currently holds two IGFA world-records (Calico Bass 12# tippet and White Sea Bass, 20# tippet). He was recently awarded the “Ross Allen Merigold Complete Angler Memorial Award” by the historic Pasadena Fly Fishing Club in Southern California. Al’s articles, photography and flies have been published in many prominent fly fishing magazines over the years. He is a licensed and bonded, surf guide. He founded the now retired, One Surf Fly event in SoCal, which lasted nine seasons and raised thousands of dollars supporting fly fishing non-profits and worthy causes.
Promoting saltwater fly fishing through classes and lectures has been Al’s passion, up and down the California coast.
Al currently resides in Westchester, CA with his wife Janet and daughter Quinn.
