Born and raised on the front range of Colorado, my fly-fishing journey started by trying on my father’s rubber boot-footed waders and “casting” at a local pond. It then evolved into a growing obsession and journey with my father that brought us to new places, new species and created some of my most memorable experiences.
I will admit, my tying journey started slowly, why tie flies when your parents can buy them for you? It eventually turned into a meditative and OCD obsession that brought a whole new aspect to fly-fishing that was previously missing. My new obsession is to get my 3 year old son outdoors so that he can start building memories and finding that appreciation for the outdoors that I have, and maybe one day he will surpass his old man like I have.
