I grew up fishing the Harpeth River in Nashville for smallmouth and rock bass, taught myself to fly fish in college by trial and mostly error in the Smoky Mountains and later on Rock Creek outside Missoula. I was introduced to The Henry’s Fork in 2010 and haven’t found a good enough reason to fish too many other Western rivers instead.
I spend most of my fishing time in Nashville exploring small creeks and rivers for aggressive smallmouth. I’m drawn to tying because it tasks you with another piece of the puzzle and keeps you mentally engaged with fishing when work or weather makes it physically impossible.
