Signature Tyer
I am originally from Tuscany in Italy in a small village near Pisa. I have approached stream fishing since I was a boy when in the summer during the summer holidays I moved to my grandparents who lived in the mountains. But only for about 13 years have I dedicated myself entirely to fly fishing, fascinated by casting where I practiced some internships with the TLT academy, a casting school here in Italy, but soon after I was enchanted by the construction of artificial flies and in particular by magical world of natural but also synthetic materials, in fact sometimes I create mixes of natural and synthetic dubbing in my flies to make my flies more captivating and have the effect I want.
The passion for fly tying grew exponentially until it became a small business. There isn't a day that I don't spend at the vise even just for an hour, continuing to try, experiment with materials, combinations, etc. The flies I tie are always tested in my streams and therefore they are flies that I personally test before being put into production. I started tying as a self-taught fly tyer. If I think back to the first flies I tied and do now, there is no comparison. Then one day I started to color and make some materials for my flies because maybe I was looking for a color that I couldn't find, or I wanted a dubbing that had a certain type of effect in the water and so shortly thereafter I also created a small line of materials natural ones selected and colored by me here in the hills of Tuscany. I also did 3 years of competitions at an amateur level which helped me a lot to grow both in tying and in fly fishing. Today I continue to fish in my streams that I frequented as a boy, fishing European nymph with ultra-thin leaders, streamers and dry, mainly brown trout but sometimes also rainbow trout
Here in Umpqua you will find some effective patterns of my flies.
