I love fly tying materials that move fantastically in the water and create a sense of urgency for a trout to eat them. That's why I took one of my favorite materials for water movement, CDC (Cul De Canard), and made a nymph based on it.
From the tail to the bead head this nymph is made to move and shake underwater. It's tied in sizes 14-18, in the colors tan, brown, and olive which can replicate everything from different mayfly species in your stream, to crustaceans living amongst the weed beds. The movement from the CDC and variety of natural colors and sizes make this fly a very unique searching nymph pattern.
It's a nymph you'll absolutely need in your trout fly box for every stream, and every location.
