BEAR'S HEX

"The infamous HEX hatch! I think we all have been in pursuit of the late night evening fishing hatch of this pattern. While I honestly think you hit this hatch two out of every 15 times fishing, it clearly is a pattern where dealers will see dozens of flies to the same consumer. (All different style patterns) Like the brown drake, this pattern was one of the better flies amongst the die-hard anglers and key employees and guides. I cannot personally say that I had a chance to fish these flies, however, do have pictures of 26 inch fish taken on these on the lower section of the Au Sable, Pere Marquette, and Manistee Rivers!
