My grandfather introduced me to fly tying and I have tied since I was 8 years old. To me, the greatest feeling is going out with family and catching fish on flies I have tied myself.

Fly fishing and tying has been a way for me to relax and escape from school and busy life. Being able to send files to my grandpas to use in Wisconsin's Driftless Area and seeing pictures of fish they caught always makes my day.

I took advantage of my Dad’s career in the Air Force to experience fly fishing and tying for many different species: northern pike in North Dakota, trout in Montana, and bass and carp in Oklahoma. Plenty of exposure to different species has opened my eyes to new techniques and styles of tying and fishing the flies. With a recent move to Bozeman, Montana, I have been able to spend more time on the water than I ever have before.
