“I don’t fish Sea Run Cutthroats often. But when I do, I fish poppers.”
Casting a 6wt 80’ for hours while hoping to catch a few fish in the 6-14” range isn’t usually my first choice of WA’s fishing options. The fishery’s saving grace is that the SRC’s will often chase surface flies. I’ve successfully fished all sorts of dumb flies out there, including pizza slices and my pool toy hopper, but a good old popper with a stinger hook is what really gets it done. These poppers float, have baitfish colors, and have a stinger hook. They catch fish. Not to mention they look pretty damn sharp.
