Umpqua Feather Merchants, the world's foremost manufacturer and distributor of premium quality fishing flies, is currently hiring for a Buyer position in our Purchasing Department located in Louisville, CO.
Our Purchasing/Production Department is responsible for forecasting requirements and procuring all needed items to deliver our top-quality flies, packs, leader and tippet, hooks, and fly fishing accessories to our customers across the U.S. and the around the World.
We are looking for a strong candidate to take over the purchasing of multiple product lines. Position involves coordination with internal departments as well as vendors international & domestic. International travel to factories optional.
Position Requirements: *Purchasing based on ERP/MRP systems preferred. *Experience with fly tying and knowledge of fly tying materials is helpful but not required. *Individual must have strong communication skills - verbal and written. *Individual must have a professional attitude and the ability to represent the company in a positive manner. *Individual must have the ability to communicate effectively with all departments. *Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
Additional Requirements: *Must pass a pre-employment background check *Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of experience and training which qualifies the employee to perform the essential job duties of the position
Position Responsibilities: *Contacts vendors to order, schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries *Prepares, maintains and reviews purchasing files, reports and price lists *Conducts follow-up on all late orders on a routine basis *Prepares and tracks status of purchase orders and requisitions *Demonstrates initiative and willingness to perform other duties as assigned
Salary & Benefits:
- $50k-$60k DOE, plus bonus potential
- Four day per week schedule optional
